So......Do I have to workout now???

The title says it all.  Today I got a membership at the YMCA Our community fitness center. Not just for me, but for our whole family.  Got a tour of the new facility and fell in love with the top of the line equipment.  Televisions built into the treadmills, crazy looking equipment that I have no idea what they do...but I like it.  I guess ill have to pull out the workout gear and whip by butt into shape. I can do this...right?!

Baking with Red

O.K CONFESSION............

I have a baking blog too! It made be contradicting having a weight loss blog and a baking high calorie blog right?! I have a passion of creating cakes and cookies and giving them as gifts on holidays to my friends & family. Hey..I have even sold a few. This blog Daily weigh in is all about balance for me. Just because I Love to bake and decorate seriously high sugar Red Light foods does not mean I have to stop baking because I want to loose weight. This is why I am going to lifestyle the weight watchers route because you can take of a bite of everything...you just have to count points. Portions people. I will bake a cake and eat it too...(but sadly just a sliver) but at least I am not depriving my body of what it is craving once in a while. So if you want to check out my "Other" Blog....do so. You are NOT going to gain weight by just looking through the computer screen. Come on' I dare you....

You Are What You Eat.

"Your arteries are the rivers within your body that continually transport essential nutrients and oxygen from your heart to the rest of your body".

A big part of staying healthy and also keeping your arteries clean and clear is related to your diet and what you eat. If you have read on my about me profile you will have learned that I had a health scare a few years back. I now plan to do as much as I can to prevent any problems in the future. I control what I eat so why not make sure that what I am putting in my body is the best thing for it?! There’s no joke in the popular saying that says: “You are what you eat.” It just makes good sense that what you put in your body is what will reflect out in all aspects of your health.

It’s been reported over and over that eating a cleaner diet full of fresh fruits and vegetables (preferably organic) can really help prevent heart disease and other life-threatening ailments – plus help scrub away built-up clogging plaque in our arteries.

A friend of mine is amazingly dedicated to putting the best foods on the table for her and her family. I do envy her for her dedication and healthy chosen lifestyle to what is called "clean eating".  I used to have her daughter in my day care and the pressure was on to make sure I put down healthier meals for her daughter. We always do eat healthy anyways but when she brought the eating cleaner lifestyle to my attention I never really did realize how bad some of the store bought ( apparently healthy foods) were so bad for me and my family.  If you read her blog you will learn a lot about this.  She brought to my attention her cooking habits and lifestyle changes she had made for her family.  She uses no processed food as her guideline and lives by that.  I am a big fan of her blog.  She has brought a lot to my attention about eating better through her blog I have learned about the importance of eating cleaner. I will try little by little to get some of the bad processed food out of our fridge but it may take some time to to go full fledged clean eating. Right now my concentration and focus is to loose a few pounds , meaning I may have a few artificial ingredients in my meals...but one day I would love to be as dedicated as my friend Dallas.

Presidents choice pro advantage

Way to go PC! I am not a huge fan of yogart. I actually find it kind of boring and bland to eat on its own. But I tried this one that I picked up at my local grocery store the other day and it is D-E-L-I-S-H!

It is only 2 POINTS.

My goal to drink more water

I know that drinking water is a huge boost to healthier living and helping loose weight. I thought maybe a little in depth researh may encourage me to do so.this is some information found:

  1. Water is absolutely essential to the human body’s survival. A person can live for about a month without food, but only about a week without water.
  2. Water helps to maintain healthy body weight by increasing metabolism and regulating appetite.
  3. Water leads to increased energy levels. The most common cause of daytime fatigue is actually mild dehydration.
  4. Drinking adequate amounts of water can decrease the risk of certain types of cancers, including colon cancer, bladder cancer, and breast cancer.
  5. For a majority of sufferers, drinking water can significantly reduce joint and/or back pain.
  6. Water leads to overall greater health by flushing out wastes and bacteria that can cause disease.
  7. Water can prevent and alleviate headaches.
  8. Water naturally moisturizes skin and ensures proper cellular formation underneath layers of skin to give it a healthy, glowing appearance.
  9. Water aids in the digestion process and prevents constipation.
  10. Water is the primary mode of transportation for all nutrients in the body and is essential for proper circulation.

Those are just a few reasons to drink up that I came across on google. ;) Im sure there is a million other reasons to drink up.  This post is making me very thirsty!!

Please do share if you have some more reasons water is good for us. I would love to hear more. The more good things I hear the more I am motivated to keep hydrated with the right thing. I am trying to say goodbye to my #1 addictions (Coffee and diet cola) , which I have yet to do...that is a whole other post...

Clean sweep

Out with the old, in with the new.....
Today was my preparation day for getting back-on-track. I focused my mind frame on getting back on the weight watchers diet plan.  Thought I would have one last care free "bad" meal.  couldn't get any greasier than Pizza hut's pepperoni & cheese pizza. I Did feel disgusting after eating it, but feel okay knowing that I got rid of most of the danger foods in my kitchen pantry and have a loaded up fridge of fresh fruits and veggies. Wish me luck as my new journey to a happier, healthy, skinny Me starting tomorrow morning.
